The First Layer

As anyone that's tried their hand at 3D printing will know, the quality of the finished print starts with the crucial first layer.

I've been a technology and DIY enthusiast since TVs only had four channels, internet was a dream, and phones were something that hung off the wall; but I can't recall a more exciting time than right now with the "maker space" and more specifically, 3D printing.

It's within anyone’s reach to build things right in their home that previously were not possible without a lot of expense, time to build experience, and tools.

Of course, this space does have its expenses and tools, and the more time afforded, the more experience gained.  But, the barrier to entry is very low - 3D printers can be had under $200, perhaps cheaper going through the proper channels.

Today marks the first layer - projects and shenanigans inbound, stick around ;)
